“Wake Up! Wake Up! I’m going to Clarks Beach!” I yelled at my Mum. I wanted to get to school quickly because we were going to Clarks beach. “Quickly get ready. Let’s go to school.” When I got to school I hung my bag up and then we did the roll. Then I went to Mrs Elborough. We went in the seven seated car. When we got to Clarks Beach me Trina, Ty and Rennie climbed the tree. After we climbed the tree, Mrs de Farias blew the whistle. The whistle was to start was to start looking for creatures. I found a chiton. It was hard to get off the rocks. After lunch we drew a picture of the seaweed and other things we found. At the exciting in the morning and it was cool when I got to Clarks Beach. Shrimp are a decapod crustacean, which means they have ten legs and a hard cover over their bodies. Their scientific name is Alope Spinifrons. Painted Shrimp are green, red and orange. Their bodies are see through. Some shrimp are yellow. There are many types of shrimp. There are Painted Shrimps, Sea Centipede shrimp and Sea Slater shrimp. Painted Shrimp can grow up to 65mm long. Shrimp can be found in rock pools and in the ocean. Shrimp eat scraps left behind by other sea creatures. Shrimp grab food in their claws and drag it backwards into a sheltered spot. Shrimp get eaten by whales, big fish and sea horses. Shrimp are a pretty small crustacean. They are found all around New Zealand’s coast. They are fascinating. By Brylee
